The 2016 Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships gets into gear tomorrow at 1PM, and high schools athletes across Jamaica are ready and rearing to go. Defending girls champions Edwin Allen High School will have to work hard to hold off strong challenges from the likes if Hydel, Holmwood Technical and St Jago to retain their crown, while on the boys’ side, Kingston College and Jamaica College will be looking to crash Calabar ‘s party.
Champs never fails to bring us breath-taking, jaw-dropping performances, as rivalries are renewed, records are smashed, and new stars are born each year. Who will win? We don’t know that yet, but excitement is already thick in the air from local athletics fans, and amongst diehards in the Diaspora.
