The Shanique Myrie case has captured the attention of many Jamaicans since it was reported in March 2011 that she had been deported from Barbados after she was allegedly mistreated by immigration officials, including being subjected to a cavity search in unsanitary and demeaning conditions.
Judgement was handed down today in the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ), which ruled that she should be awarded a total of 75,000 Barbadian dollars (J$3.6m).
