The Jamaica Library Service: Serving Knowledge to Jamaica

The Jamaica Library Service (JLS) is one of the most important information resources in the nation. Since childhood, we have all been taught that the library is the go-to place for access to a full range of information services and resources. Even though technology has increased people’s personal access to information, especially via the Internet, the library still remains a timeless and invaluable source of knowledge that can only be accessed from books, documents and databases that are not otherwise readily available to the public.

The Jamaica Library Service has been in existence for over 75 years, providing book lovers, researchers, data seekers and information gatherers with a wealth of assistance and guidance. In 2016, the JLS undertook several projects to offer even more value to its users. Here are the highlights from each month.
