My Favourite Champs Memory: An Antiguan Catches The ‘Champs Fever’

Earlier this month, we asked fans to share with us some of their most memorable Champs moments. We got a message on Facebook from an Antiguan fan, Alicia Ward, who lived in Jamaica for three years while attending The University of the West Indies, Mona. Take a look at her Champs memory below:

One of the things my former classmate, Lisa Wint, made sure I experienced before leaving JA was Champs! And I absolutely loved it.

For me, it wasn’t a specific moment that made it great, but the energy and loyalty to one’s alma mater that made my time at Champs captivating. Here in Antigua, yea, we have school spirit during the annual inter-school competitions, but nothing like what I experienced at Champs. The school spirit was intoxicating. And being the outsider (non-Jamaican) looking in, I felt the sense of pride emanating from everyone present for the school they were backing. Champs is one of the best memories I have of living in Jamaica. And I’d do it all over again.
