The Jamaica Public Service Company Limited (JPS) has made an outreach to the members of the Jamaica Manufacturing Association (JMA) to assist them in developing tailored energy solutions. The partnership could see the local manufacturers spending less for electricity.
In Jamaica one of the main hindrance to growth is the high cost of energy (MEFP ¶ 11). As such there is an entire section of the IMF Agreement/ The Memorandum of Economic and Financial Policies dedicated to outlining the strategic investments which are to be implemented in the energy sector to achieve the ultimate goal of reducing the cost of energy (MEFP ¶17).
