For the quarter ending July 2013, 700 jobs were added to the market when compared to the 3 month period that ended April 2013. This contributed to the overall unemployment rate inching down from the 16 year high 16.3% (qtr ending April 2013) to 15.4% a thirteen year high.
More females than males remain unemployed. The Female Unemployment Rate slid from 21.3% (qtr ending April 2013) to 19.9%. While Male Unemployment Rate experienced a less than impressive decline from 12% (qtr ending April 2013) to 11.7%.
