diGgers this is the first time since December 2012 that there has been a simultaneous mth/mth increase in both Alumina and Crude Bauxite output levels. This occurred four times respectively in 2012 (Mar, Jul, Nov and Dec)  and 2011 (Jan, Mar, Jul and Dec) and three times in 2010 (Mar, Jul and Dec) .

Jamaica’s economy is currently being reformed under the four year arrangement with the International Monetary Fund. The arrangement features a number of quantitative targets which the country must meet in order to pass its quarterly reviews and further to that be able to complete the program successfully.

With just three months to go in the calendar year we at diGjamaica are keen to see the results from this industry as the foreign exchange earned from the export of Alumina and Bauxite contribute significantly to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
