A September To Remember

September is going to be a busy month, but as always, diGJamaica has you covered!

Students and parents gearing up for the official start of the new academic year, we already have a number of pages that will be of great interest to you, and we will be adding to our education resources section throughout this month. Look our for posts on tutoring, after-school activities, bullying/conflict resolution, World Literacy Day and more.

There are also a number of health related observances during this month, including Caribbean Wellness Day, so we will also be focusing on health and wellness. We will be covering topics such as prostate and thyroid cancer, heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease, in addition to mental and emotional wellness, with World Suicide Prevention Day.

Finally, if you have been keeping up with the news over the last month or so, you will realise that the nation is on general election watch. No official announcements have yet been made, but we will be creating an election hub on diGJamaica.com with all the information you need to know about constituencies, sitting members of Parliament, political parties both mainstream and grassroots, Jamaica’s election history, voter registration procedures and much more need-to-know information. So whether Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller ‘calls it’ next month, as she has been dared, or the election is later in the year or even next year, we’ve got everything you’ll need.

Our hashtag for everything election related is #ElectionJa, so follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date.
