1.  Carter to appeal disqualification ruling

Nesta Carter is likely to appeal his 2008 Beijing Olympic Games disqualification through the Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS), following the International Olympic Association’s (IOC) decision to strip the sprinter and Jamaica of the 4x100m relay gold medal won in the Chinese city. 2. Soldier killed in Rock River

Police investigators have launched a high-level investigation into the murder of 31-year-old soldier in the community of Rock River, Clarendon last night. Lance Corporal Michael Fraser was shot dead near his home around 8:30 last night. See full story on The Gleaner’s website.
