The lower the bar, the lower the amount of rainfall the parish received for the period. The graph clearly illustrates when the rainy season occurs in Jamaica.
More importantly, it shows how severe the drought got in 2010 which is very important for farmers and other food purchasers to understand for planning their crops.
Several parishes experienced severe drought in 2010 but none experienced extreme drought as measured by the indices shown above.
