1. Thieves rob 15 persons of cash and valuables

The police are reporting that 15 persons, 13 of whom are Chinese nationals, were robbed of cash and valuables worth nearly $3 million on Tuesday. A release from the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force this afternoon said the robbery took place about 9 o’clock  in the night on Paddington Terrace in Kingston 6. See full story on The Gleaner’s website.

2. Knife attack at high school leads to killing

A 15-year-old male student at the Edith Dalton James High School in the Corporate Area is dead following a knife attack today by another male student. It reported that both students had a dispute which became physical. See full story on The Gleaner’s website.

3. Tropical Storm Nate threatens US

Tropical Storm Nate formed off the coast of Nicaragua on Thursday and was being blamed for seven deaths in Central America as it spun north toward a potential landfall on the US Gulf Coast as a hurricane over the weekend. See full story on The Gleaner’s website.

5. Students suspended for sex video

A group of students at the St Catherine High School have been suspended following their participation in a raunchy social media challenge, which encourages participants to verbalise the extent that they would go for sexual pleasure.The challenge has provided an outlet for many to rap about their sexual desires and has seen several international celebrities joining the movement, which has gone viral. See full story on The Gleaner’s website.

6. NHT will fully finance $22m homes
