30 Days of Inspiration! (#3: Forgive)

March is celebrated as Spiritual Wellness Month. It is a time to reflect on the values, ethics and morals that add value and give meaning to your life. Here at diGJamaica, we’re going on a quest for 30 days of inspiration: extracting the common principles from different religions and systems of belief that help their followers to find inner peace, purpose and direction. Each day for the month of March, we will be sharing another principle with you. Join us as we embark on this journey to spiritual wellness.

Forgive

Forgiveness is the art of letting go: letting go of negative feelings, thoughts and emotions you have toward someone who hurt you. This is, of course, easier said than done. The pain of betrayal, abuse, hurt and anger is real. However, forgiveness is necessary if we are to heal and grow past the pain. Someone once said that unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting someone else to drop dead. It won’t happen because all the anger and resentment that we harbour will always more adversely affect our bodies, spirits, relationships and lives. So, as we journey toward spiritual wellness, let us resolve to forgive. Let’s resolve to release people from hate and hurt in our hearts. It will help them. But it will help us a lot more. Here are some additional benefits of forgiveness:
