1. Battle for KSAC control heads to court

The battle for control of the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation heads to court today where an application for a petition to get a recount in the Rae Town Division is to be heard. The People’s National Party (PNP) is hoping the recount will overturn the win for the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and keep the corporation in its control. See full story on The Gleaner’s website.

2. Teen stabbed to death by boyfriend

A Hanover teenager is now dead after reportedly being stabbed by her boyfriend early this morning. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Shantea Thelwell, of Wells Lane in Sandy Bay, Hanover. See full story on The Gleaner’s website.

3. Floods in St Ann, St Mary

Blocked drains have again been blamed for a major flooding event, this time in sections of Runaway Bay, St Ann, yesterday morning, where the onslaught of heavy rain and rushing water tore away a box culvert on the main road linking the area to Brown’s Town. See full story on The Gleaner’s website.

4. March Pen five laid to rest
